Thanks to the generosity of Vermont fuel dealers, including the Energy Co-op of Vermont, and local businesses and organizations, the Vermont Fuel Dealers Split the Ticket program will provide more than 6,000 gallons of free heating oil, kerosene and propane this winter.
Vermont’s heating fuel dealers are mostly small, family-owned businesses that live in the same community where they work and know first-hand who is struggling to heat their home. They are often the first to respond in a crisis, especially when the family is unaware or unable to receive government assistance— or simply too proud to ask for help from others. Here’s what people are saying about the Split the Ticket Program.
And here’s how the Split the Ticket program works:
• Heating fuel dealers agree to donate a delivery of oil, kerosene, or propane to a neighbor in need.
• Those pledged gallons are matched with donations from community business and organizations.
• All funds will be used to match fuel donations by Vermont’s oil and propane dealers—none are used to administer the program.
Please consider helping Split the Ticket with a Vermonter in need this winter. To make a contribution, or for more information, call the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association at (802) 223-7750.
In addition to taking part in Split the Ticket, the Energy Co-op of Vermont provides members with oil deliveries from the Co-op Oil Bank. And like many other fuel dealers, we deliver heating oil and kerosene to our customers and members who receive fuel assistance.
