Here’s what our customers and members are saying about
Vermont Wood Pellets:

I have used several different brands of pellets and the Vermont Pellet Company’s are by far the best I have used. They produce the least ash and appear to burn as hot or hotter than any other pellet I have used. They are the only pellet I will purchase to use in my stove!

- Rod H., Essex, VT

I thought the Vermont pellets were great. They are the best out of four different varieties I’ve tried over the last two years. The bags are sturdy and well-sealed, there are almost no fines, the pellets were solid and produced no clinkers.

- Phil P., Hinesburg, VT

Super low ash, very good heat output, hardly any fines or dust.

- John B., Jericho, VT

The Vermont Wood Pellets burned very nicely, very little ash.

- Paul S., Burlington, VT

Best stuff I've ever burned. Really clean. Appear to have a harder finish than other pellets so they feed better. More heat than from other pellets.

- David O., South Hero, VT

These are very clean burning, low ash pellets. Definitely reduce stove maintenance. They really are a super premium pellet.

- Bob G., Barre, VT

I want to tell how pleased we are with the pellets we got from you. I bought a few bags of other pellets before yours arrived. There is no comparison between yours and the other. The Vermont pellets burn so completely. There is so little ash or carbons left in the burn pot. I only scrape out the burn pot every three to four days. The old pellets I had to do it at least daily. We are very pleased. Thank you.

- Bryce and Linda H., Colchester, VT.

… so I made a point of stopping at the plant on Friday and picking up a few bags.

I actually got to talk to both the CEO and the president of the company and was impressed, very impressed actually, with how down to earth and genuinely interested in my feedback they were. Not only that, they seemed genuinely interested in making a high quality pellet and getting it right the first time. I mentioned that I had wanted to buy last seasons pellets from them but they opened about a month after I bought-their response was that they didn’t want to open too soon, before they knew they had a good, quality pellet. That impressed me!

Now to the pellets! The first thing I noticed when I opened the bag was a clean pine smell. I was surprised by that, I am used to opening a bag and smelling a dusty somewhat wood/cardboard smell. I don’t know if this is because I got them direct from the plant and they didn’t have to be shipped or what, but I liked it and so did my wife-which is double good for me.

The pellets are a softwood pellet, made from pulpwood (still not sure exactly what that means) and they burn HOT and CLEAN. There was very little ash from my weekend’s worth of burn and my burn pot had little if any carbon buildup. I don’t have a stove thermometer so I am not sure if the temps were actually hotter, but they sure felt hotter.

I haven’t burned many different brands, four to five I think. These pellets are easily the best, followed by the premiers I got from TSC at the beginning of last season. If you are in the Southern Vermont area I would say try these! You won’t be disappointed! Great company and great product!

Having burned pellets for several years, we have found yours to be the best ever….. Low ash…. lots of heat and we’re using less of them. We’re cleaning the stove less often!

- Rick at Rick’s Trading Post

I’m all about supporting the locals: the loggers, their truckers and the people at the new mill. Vermont wood Pellets wood is grown here and it’s burnt here. Puts out far more heat than everything I’ve ever tried.

- Roy, Rutland, VT

I've learned the hard way that there are a lot of poor quality pellets on the market that make the job of maintaining your stove a real pain. I've switched to pellets made by Vermont Wood Pellet Company. I’m happy with high BTU….low dust and they’re priced right. I’ll never use any other pellet in my stove again!

- Steve F., Rutland, VT

We are lucky to have the first pellet mill in the state locate in North Clarendon. They are best pellets I have ever used: less ash… better heat… less cleaning time.

- Mike K., Clarendon, VT

We have been burning Vermont Wood Pellets exclusively for 17 days. The lens on the photo eye has stayed cleaner than it ever has; the Lennox stove does NOT like the draft reduced, because a slight reduction in draft leads to more carbon build up. While still allowing for a 'decent' fire; the 'pinus strobus' definitely provides a warmer fire. In fact, the flame is so brilliant yellow-white that before retiring, I have to make sure the lights are off in the office/studio...it's that brilliant. I love the smell when opening a fresh bag. The new operative phrase 'there's something very clean and wholesome about Vermont Wood Pellets'. I think the French, in their famously determined manner, are correct in their 'feeling' of a particular territory: the attribute that makes Champagne or Bourdeaux French ...or Danby maple syrup with it's Danby-limestone-laced undertones … I feel the same applies to Vermont Wood Pellets.

- The Latsons, Danby, VT

Haven’t tried them out in eight months and last time they were really pretty good - but a lot of fines. Just got 10 bags in Middlebury. Heat is very hot. The pellets still smell like pine needles, apples, and clean sawdust. Fines are low normal, this time. Ash is very, very low. Clinkers and carbon buildup seem low, so far. I’m planning on buying local for next winter. I’m looking forward to it. The Energex are very good but the Vermont Wood Pellets really seem to be great. Really, really great. And local jobs.
