Help With Vermont Energy Bills
We don't like to see anyone struggling to get through Vermont's winters without enough heat. So each year, we work with a number of state agencies and other organizations to help more than 150 Co-op members who are on limited incomes or facing tough challenges to stay warm all winter long.
Fuel Deliveries
Each winter we deliver more than 90,000 gallons of oil and kerosene to Co-op members with funds provided, in large part, by Seasonal Fuel Assistance, Crisis Fuel Assistance and Citizens Energy. We will also deliver wood pellets starting in November 2009.
Heating Systems
Having a full tank of oil doesn’t help if your furnace or boiler won’t run. Heating systems should be cleaned and tuned each year and old, inefficient systems should be replaced.

But for Co-op members struggling to make ends meet, taking care of their furnace or boiler is often a low priority. Fortunately, help is available from Crisis Fuel Assistance , the Weatherization Program and Efficiency Vermont.
Using Less Energy
Vermont’s Weatherization Program provides long-term help to low-income Vermonters by improving the energy efficiency of their homes. By adding insulation, sealing air leaks and replacing heating systems, Weatherization typically produces energy savings of at least 30%.
