Energy Co-Op of Vermont Membership Benefits
Better Energy Prices With the Energy Co-op of Vermont
Because we set our prices to achieve a modest margin (currently 50 cents/gallon) above our wholesale fuel costs, our prices are often lower than our competitors’ prices. Total savings from September 2000 through May 2009 were more than $500,000 (comparison is with average Vermont prices as reported by the Vermont Department of Public Service).
Automatic Oil & Kerosene Deliveries
Carroll Isham
scheduling deliveries
We use our computers to keep an eye on your oil tank so that you don't have to worry about running out of oil. We use factors like your home's size and insulation levels, and the weather, especially in winter, to schedule deliveries when your tank is about one third full. We ask members to call us when there are changes in their oil or kerosene use – they’ve built an addition, installed a pellet stove, are leaving the house empty, and so on – so that we can adjust their delivery schedule.
Energy Co-op of Vermont Price Protection Plans
Each summer we offer several price protection and budget plans for our members.
- For Heating Oil: our fixed price pre-buy plan, our Smart Choice plan with a capped price or our Easy Pay budget plan.
- For Kerosene: our Easy Pay budget plan.
- For wood Pellets: our fixed price budget plan or our Easy Pay plan.
Our "No Run-Out" Guarantee
Delivering oil on a cold winter day
If despite our best efforts you ever run out of oil or kerosene, we'll fill your tank as soon as we can - even if it's in the middle of the night. And we'll give you a $50 credit toward your bill. This applies to Co-op members who are on automatic delivery, who are up to date with their payments and who have told us about changes that would increase their oil use.
24 Hour Emergency Service With the Energy Co-op of Vermont
Heating system emergencies are a serious matter. We respond to emergencies as soon as possible by dispatching an experienced service technician day or night.
