We had been using almost 1,000 gallons of propane a year and our home has an open floor plan, making it well-suited for a heat pump. Our heat pump was installed in one day last April. We enjoyed the cooling option during some of those extra hot days last summer and now the results are in from this winter. We've used 300 less gallons of propane from October 1st to April 1st. Even at only $2.00 per gallon, that's a $600 savings.
