Oil, Kerosene and Wood Pellets Delivery in VT

Winter heating oil delivery
Winter heating oil delivery

Even if they live in very energy-efficient homes, Vermonters still depend on heating fuels to help keep their homes warm and comfortable through the winter. The Energy Co-op delivers heating oil, kerosene and wood pellets in our service area, which includes Chittenden County, parts of the Islands and southern Franklin and Lamoille counties, and central Vermont.

Heating Oil

About 50% of Vermonters heat their home with oil. Our heating oil is supplied from Quebec refineries and is known as "ultra low sulfur fuel oil." It contains less than 15 parts per million sulfur, burns cleanly and results in fewer equipment problems. Heating oil is suitable for homes with indoor tanks and is most often supplied on a convenient, automatic delivery schedule.

Kerosene

About 10% of Vermonters heat with kerosene. If your tank is outside or in an unheated garage or if you have a Monitor space heater, we will supply you with kerosene, not heating oil.  Kerosene has a lower gel point than heating oil and so outside kerosene tanks won't freeze up during cold winters. Many mobile homes have outdoor tanks that are supplied with kerosene.

Wood Pellets

Over the past twenty years, more and more Vermonters have installed pellet stoves and used wood pellets for most if not all of their home heating requirements. Pellet stoves are clean-burning and more efficient than most wood stoves. Wood pellets are a renewable fuel, are more convenient than wood and some are even made right here in Vermont.
