Financing Energy Upgrades in Vermont

It's much easier to pay for new heating equipment or to make energy upgrades to your home if you can spread the payments over several years. Monthly loan payments are offset by lower energy bills. The money that you used to spend heating your home is now available to help meet your loan payments.

Here are a some low-cost financing programs:

Opportunities Credit Union (OCU)

Program: Heat Saver Loan
Projects: OCU offers low-cost home improvement loans for energy improvements such as furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, central pellet boilers plus energy upgrades such as adding insulation, fixing air leaks and replacing old windows. Fill out loan application.

VSECU

Program: Energy Improvement Loan
Projects: This program offers flexibility in financing a variety of energy saving projects and purchases including solar projects, heating systems, doors, windows, and energy efficient appliances.

NeighborWorks

Program: NeighborWorks Energy Loan
Projects: GMP customers can use on-bill repayment for low interest energy improvement loans from NeighborWorks of Western Vermont.

New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU)

Program: NEFCU Energy Smart Loan
Projects: NEFCU offers an energy improvement Smart Loan program with no money down so you can start saving right away.

Pace Program

Program: PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy)
Projects: PACE is a way of financing energy efficient home improvements by borrowing money and tying the payment to the property rather than the owner.
