The Energy Co-op has over 2,000 members in Vermont. Over the years we’ve got to know many of them as they made improvements to their heating systems, called to schedule fuel deliveries, requested an energy audit or asked us to repair their furnaces. In 2005 after using 1,823 gallon of heating oil and five cords of wood for heat and hot water Chuck and Gaye set out on a long-term effort to bring their energy use under control.
The Whites signed up for a free Co-op Solar site assessment and then purchased a solar hot water system. The result? They saved an average of 400 gallons of oil a year.
